"There is a dignity and a majesty in the efforts of all our Armed Forces, and it is well for us to remember the noble deeds of those who have worn the uniform."
~Zachary Fisher
In 35 years of service in uniform, one day stands out above all others. Eighteen years after September 11, 2001, I still remember exactly where I was and what I was doing. Our country changed forever that day.
That day, we redoubled our commitment to our military, our veterans, our country. My life's work has been in service to this commitment, and retirement from the Air Force has not stayed my passion. Today, I redouble my efforts to support Veterans and their families through my service to Fisher House Michigan.
I’ve taken the pledge to support Michigan Fisher Houses, and I hope you’ll join me. With your gifts of time, talent, and treasure, we can build brick-and-mortar support systems for our veteran families at Michigan VA Medical Centers. We can thank our veterans for their service in word and in deed. Together, we can create a future that supports our military and celebrates our veterans. Join me!
We’re not alone on this mission. Thousands of Michiganders have already taken the Patriots’ Pledge, and I am honored to announce your biggest opportunity to make an impact to date. As the Fisher House in Ann Arbor is presently under construction, NOW is the time to kick-start the effort to build in Detroit:
A generous corporate donor has taken the lead in sponsoring the 2019 Patriots Pledge. From 9/11 until 11/11, you can double your impact, as every dollar you give will be matched, up to $1,000,000!
Consider this opportunity to take the Patriots Pledge, to speak up and spread the word, and to make a meaningful gift. Your gift of $50, $500, $5000, or an amount of your choice, will make a positive impact on the lives of our military and veteran families. I’ve witnessed the incredible difference a Fisher House can make. Your generosity is a kindness paid to these families, a kindness that will blossom and spread, and a kindness that positively impacts lives.
